Dr. Julian Engel

Dr. Engel studied Law at the University of Trier from October 2007 to July 2012. He passed the state compulsory subject examination for the 1st state law examination in a "free attempt" with a final grade of "good" at the beginning of 2012. Dr. Engel passed the university special subject examination on the subject of business and tax criminal law with distinction in July 2012.
From September 2012 until the beginning of 2015, Dr. Engel was a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG - German Research Foundation) in the Research Training Group of the Institute for Environmental and Technology Law at the University of Trier. At the same time he was a lecturer at the University of Trier.
In 2016, Dr. Engel became a Doctor of Laws with an interdisciplinary subject. The doctoral thesis entitled "Sham recovery in waste management as a case of section 263 of the StGB" was published in the same year.
He passed the 2nd state law examination in May 2017 at the Higher Regional Court of Coblenz, once more with distinction.
Since July 2015, Dr. Engel has initially worked for DORNBACH GMBH Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft as a part-time research assistant. He then joined DORNBACH GMBH Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft as a lawyer in 2017. In 2020, Dr. Engel was admitted to the circle of managing partners of DORNBACH GMBH Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft.
Dr. Engel has been appointed as an examiner for the 1st and 2nd state law examinations by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in Rhineland-Palatinate. He is also a member of the board of a business association in the Neuwied and Westerwald regions.
Dr. Engel is also a member of the Legal Committee of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) for the term of office 2021-2024.
