After studying Business Administration at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, with periods spent abroad in France and England, Mr Schmidt began his career in the area of auditing and corporate finance in an international consulting company in Frankfurt.

After successfully passing his professional exams as a tax advisor and certified public accountant, Mr Schmidt joined the DORNBACH Group in 1997 and became a partner in 2001.

As well as auditing, one of the main areas which Mr Schmidt focusses on is giving tax and business advice to medium-sized clientèle. Companies in the construction industry and customer finance - also with international connections - are among the clientèle looked after by Mr Schmidt.

Another main focus of his work is looking after public institutions, owner-operated enterprises and municipally owned companies with regard to business and tax, and also non-profit institutions. Mr Schmidt has also commented on the Eigenbetriebs- und Anstaltsverordnung Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland Palatinate regulation on separate, decentralised businesses and public-sector agencies).
